The Challenge
Queen’s University Belfast needed to refresh its digital presence to compete on a global stage. The existing site lacked cohesion, was difficult to navigate and did not effectively communicate the university’s research strengths and student experience.
The challenge was to create a platform that could inspire prospective students, engage international audiences and showcase Queen’s world-leading research.

Our Approach
We worked with Queen’s to understand their recruitment and research priorities. User journeys were redesigned to focus on courses, research impact and campus life. Content was rewritten to balance academic rigour with accessibility for diverse audiences.
The design adopted a modern visual style, supported by bold photography and video to bring the student experience to life. Accessibility and inclusivity were embedded from the outset.
Impact
The new platform delivered measurable results, with international applications increasing by 14% and research content engagement up 28%. Users reported greater clarity in navigation, and staff found content publishing significantly easier.
The project reinforced Queen’s reputation as a world-class, globally relevant university.
