The Challenge
Keele University needed to modernise their website to remain competitive in the UK higher education sector. The old platform was fragmented, difficult to navigate and failed to highlight Keele’s distinctive strengths in research, sustainability and student experience.
The challenge was to build a digital presence that would attract students, engage stakeholders and showcase Keele’s values in a clear and inspiring way.
Our Approach
We worked closely with Keele to define their unique value proposition and how this should be communicated online. Through student interviews and competitor benchmarking, we mapped the information architecture to simplify key journeys such as finding courses and learning about campus life.
Visually, we adopted a bold and fresh design language inspired by Keele’s vibrant campus. Accessibility and mobile-first principles were prioritised, ensuring inclusivity across devices.

Impact
The relaunch boosted course enquiries by 17% and reduced bounce rates on key student pages by 22%. Stakeholders praised the clearer navigation and the improved balance between academic credibility and student engagement.
The new platform positioned Keele as a university that is both innovative and welcoming.
