The Challenge

With roots stretching back to 1858, Howorth Air Tech has long led innovation in clean‑air solutions across healthcare, pharma, biotech, and industrial environments.

Yet its digital presence didn’t reflect this legacy or expertise. As the business renewed its brand strategy - anchored around the proposition “Clean Air Pioneers since 1858” there was a clear need for a digital platform that could elevate awareness, support technical content, and showcase their engineered solutions to highly specialised audiences.

Our Approach

We began with discovery workshops, gathering internal insights and external feedback via staff interviews and customer surveys.

That informed the brand proposition and set the tone for a site grounded in credibility and visual impact. From there, we developed a flowing, particle‑inspired visual system to represent air movement and implemented via lightweight animations to bring a dynamic yet performance‑safe aesthetic across the site.

Using Absolute Control as the technical foundation, we architected content modules - such as product items, team profiles, and case‑study blocks and configured them to enable the client to manage content independently. This structure supports flexible storytelling, reduces admin, and empowers internal teams to create rich content without technical help.

The new site now presents Howorth’s market-leading products, services, and team story with clarity and confidence.

Prospective clients can explore clean‑air systems, containment solutions, staff expertise and casework in one modular, user-friendly environment. The platform enhances credibility and raises awareness of Howorth’s unique position in a post-Covid world where air quality matters more than ever.

Process for growth

Discovery

We facilitated collaboration between stakeholders, internally and externally, through workshops and surveys to define user needs, brand strengths, and desired outcomes. Those insights formed the strategic foundation for both the brand and digital vision.

Design

We crafted a modular visual and information architecture rooted in Howorth’s brand language. Fluid motifs, motion‑graphic accents, and curated staff and project photography created a visual narrative aligned with clean‑air engineering.

Build

We developed the platform on Absolute Control, building reusable module types such as product profiles and team members, plus custom Canvas-based particle effects for refined page animation. This front‑end system enabled a structured, yet flexible platform that supported scalable content creation.

Evolution

Since launch, Howorth has been able to publish case studies, product updates, team spotlights, and thought leadership content in-house. The modular site continues to adapt, scaling with emerging content needs and supporting ongoing thought leadership in air‑quality innovation. Alongside this, we continue to work with Howorth on a retained basis  providing ongoing design and development support to evolve the platform in line with new business opportunities.
