Legacy systems limiting new ambitions
Indespension has led the trailer and parts market for over 50 years, serving sectors from agriculture to automotive across its 18 UK branches. But while the brand continued to innovate, the digital experience hadn’t kept pace.
Following a strategic shift and significant investment from a new leadership team, Indespension set out to modernise its brand. Alongside that transformation, digital became a key focus - and their ecommerce platform needed a fundamental overhaul. We’d previously delivered a bespoke tow bar booking system. Now, it was time to reimagine the wider platform for performance, flexibility, and growth.

We started with strategy - aligning Indespension’s growth ambitions with the digital infrastructure needed to deliver them. With a broad product range and complex requirements, Magento 2 emerged as the right solution: open-source, scalable, and rich in features.
We created a fully bespoke ecommerce site that integrated seamlessly with the tow bar system we had previously built. Alongside this, we introduced new content, rewritten product copy, and commissioned original lifestyle photography that brought personality and purpose to the brand. The result? A robust digital presence that’s technically advanced and commercially effective.

With a scalable Magento 2 platform at its core, the site now supports both trade and retail sales - including click-and-collect options and seamless checkout journeys. It’s technically powerful, visually striking, and equipped to meet modern buyer expectations.

Discovery
We worked closely with Indespension’s leadership and commercial teams to understand product complexity, sales flows, and platform requirements. This formed the foundation of a flexible and future-ready ecommerce strategy.
Design
Brand and function had to work hand in hand. We applied the new brand across the ecommerce design and commissioned custom photography that reflected real customers, real products, and real environments.
Build
Magento 2 was selected for its adaptability, advanced features, and compatibility with our existing booking system. The platform was tailored for Indespension’s needs, from trade accounts to retail click-and-collect journeys.
Evolution
Since launch, the platform has continued to grow with the business. Content has expanded, functionality has evolved, and the site remains a key channel in Indespension’s commercial strategy.
